When readers feel what your characters feel, they form a bond that lasts beyond the last page. Writing with emotional honesty:

• 2. What’s one memory they try hard to forget—and why?

• 3. How do they react when they’re jealous? Calm? Silent? Explosive?

• 4. What lie do they tell themselves to feel safe?

• 5. Write a scene where your character loses something that can’t be replaced.

• 6. What’s their biggest regret, and what would they do differently if they could?

• 7. How do they express love—and how do they hide it?

• 8. What fear stops them from chasing what they truly want?
